Hello and welcome! My name is Tarah Ferguson, and I am a Canadian interior designer with a background in psychology who has been living in the UK for over 7 years. I live in Salisbury, England with my partner Scott and our four boys: Bear who is ten, Xavier who is four, and our twins Rafferty & Hudson who are 20 months old.

With four active boys in the house, the rooms we hang out in most often perform double duty, and there is nothing I love more than solving a good design challenge. Turning a mundane, non-functioning, uninspiring space into a colourful oasis that invites play and sparks joy, with easy systems for children of all ages to access and tidy all on their own… because mama doesn't have time, nor does she want to, clean up after her boys every single day! That is my jam!

After transforming our own playroom and watching the difference it made to how our boys play, focus, and yes, actually tidy up, I knew I had to help other families do the same. Because when a space is designed with children in mind, something shifts. The chaos quiets. The independence grows. And the joy? Is infectious.

My background in psychology means I understand how environment impacts child development, behaviour, and independence, and that's exactly why my playroom designs go beyond pretty aesthetics. I believe playrooms should work for how you and your family actually live, not how magazines say you should. The sweet spot I design for is spaces that are:

My goal with Tarah Ferguson Home is to share my passion for creating beautiful and functional playrooms with families who are keen to do the same, but don't know where to start. Together we will identify the colours, patterns, and textures that energise you and your kiddos, outline your goals for the space, and build smart, kid-friendly organisational systems that turn "tidy up time" from a battle into a habit, leaving more room for the magic of imaginative play.
